Orthodontics for Children

The teenage years are an ideal time for orthodontic treatment. With their growth and development at a peak, teens can benefit from treatments like:
- Braces or Invisalign to correct alignment.
- Custom treatment plans to suit individual dental and skeletal development.

It’s never too late to achieve the smile you’ve always wanted. Adult orthodontics can address issues like:
- Crooked or misaligned teeth

We offer various treatment options tailored to adult needs, including clear aligners and ceramic braces.

Children's FAQ
Is a recommendation from our family dentist required?
No, it is not. Many of our patients are referred by their family dentist, yet many other patients take the initiative to schedule an examination at one of our four locations themselves.
How do I schedule my child's first free examination appointment?
To make an appointment to see if your child can potentially benefit from orthodontic treatment, contact one of our locations, and you'll hear from our team as soon as possible to schedule your appointment with one of our expert doctors.
Note: When you call or e-mail us to schedule your appointment, our front office staff will request some basic information from you.
What will we learn at my child's first visit?
There are five essential questions that we will cover during your child or teens' initial examination:
- Is there an orthodontic problem?
- If so, what is it?
- What must be done to correct the problem?
- How long will the treatment take to complete?
- How much will the treatment cost?
How long will it take for my child's orthodontic treatment to be completed?
Treatment time obviously depends on each patient’s specific orthodontic problem. On average, treatment times range from 12 to 24 months.
How much will my child’s orthodontic treatment cost? Are financing options available? How does orthodontic insurance work?
We will go over the exact cost and your financial options during your child's initial examination. We have many financing options available to accommodate your needs, and we will review these with you after your child's initial examination. In addition, we will also review your insurance policy and help to maximize your benefit and file your claims.
How often will my child have appointments?
Appointments are scheduled according to your individual needs. Most patients in braces will be seen every 5 to 10 weeks. If there are specific situations that require more frequent monitoring, we will schedule appointments accordingly.
Can I schedule all of my child’s orthodontic appointments after school?
In most cases, yes. We understand your and your child's busy schedules, and we are happy to help you both make the most of your time. On some occasions, longer appointments will be scheduled in the morning. This allows our doctors and staff the necessary time to properly complete the procedure.
Can I drop my child off for their orthodontic appointments?
Yes. On some occasions, we may request to speak with a parent when they return, so we ask that parents check in with the orthodontic assistant before leaving our office.

No, it is not. Many of our patients are referred by their family dentist, yet many other patients take the initiative to schedule an examination at one of our four locations themselves.
Will my teenager’s teeth straighten out as they age?

Will I need to have teeth extracted before getting braces or Invisalign?
Removing teeth is sometimes required to achieve the best orthodontic result. Straight teeth and a balanced facial profile are the goals of orthodontics. However, because new technology has provided advanced orthodontic procedures, removing teeth is not always necessary for orthodontic treatment.
